MONTEVALLO, AL. – The University of Montevallo Athletic Department will induct seven individuals as part of the Hall of Fame Class of 2020 during an induction ceremony Saturday, February 1, 2020 at Anna Irvin Dining Hall.

The Class of 2020 features four former University of Montevallo standouts with illustrious playing careers and three meritorious service selections with distinguished professional careers.
The 2020 Hall of Fame class will be recognized at halftime of the Montevallo men's basketball game against Valdosta State University Saturday, Feb. 1^st. A reception at Anna Irvin Dining Hall at 5:45 p.m. will precede the induction ceremony at 6:30 p.m.

MANYI ATI (VOLLEYBALL)
Manyi Ati, a five-year member of the Montevallo Volleyball team from 2009-2013, holds the second most career-kills in Montevallo's NCAA Division II record book with 1,410.

Ati was named to the All-Peach Belt Conference team during all four years of her playing career (2010-2013) and was also selected to the 2013 AVCA NCAA Division II All-Southeast Region and Daktronics NCAA Division II All-Southeast Region teams.

Ati also ranks third in Montevallo's NCAA Division II record book career hitting percentage with .302, third in total blocks with 349, sixth in most career-sets played with 468 and seventh in career-matches played with 131.
In addition to her success on the court, Ati was also named to the Peach Belt Conference All-Academic Team in 2013.

Ati received a bachelor of science degree in Psychology with a minor in Human Services.

HALEY EVANS (WOMEN'S CROSS COUNTRY)
Haley Evans, a four-year member of the Montevallo Women's Cross Country team from 2009-2012, was named the Peach Belt conference Co-Runner of the Year in 2012.

Evans was a First Team All-Peach Belt Conference selection three times throughout her career in 2009, 2011, and 2012. She was a Second Team All-PBC selection in 2010.

Evans was named the athletic department's Margaret Blalock Award winner following her senior season. The Margaret Blalock Award is given to Montevallo's female student-athlete of the year.

Evans received a bachelor of science degree in Political Science with minors in Pre-Law, Business and History.
 
WILL FULMER (BASEBALL)
Will Fulmer, a four-year member of the Montevallo Baseball team from 2011-2014, holds the school record in career-runs scored with 203.

In 2012, Fulmer was also named to the NCBWA, Daktronics, and ABCA NCAA Division II All-Southeast Region teams.
Fulmer was named to the Daktronics NCAA Division II All-Southeast Region team again in 2014.

In addition, Fulmer is the all-time leader in program history with 801 career at-bats, second in program history with 278 career-hits and 50 career hit by pitches. He is third in program history with 121 career walks and 480 career assists.

Fulmer set a Peach Belt Conference record as a sophomore with a record 52 hits in conference play and was named to the 2012 All-Peach Belt Conference Team.

Fulmer is also third in program history with 121 career-walks.

Fulmer received a bachelor of business administration degree in finance.

EMILY ABERNATHY (WOMEN'S GOLF)
Emily (Gibson) Abernathy, a four-year member of the Montevallo Women's Golf team from 2007-2011, was the first Montevallo and Peach Belt Conference female golfer to qualify for the NCAA DII National Championship.

Abernathy was twice named the Peach Belt Conference Player of the Year in 2010 and 2011. In 2010, she was named First Team All American and won the PBC Individual Championship. She was also a two-time All-Peach Belt Conference selection. While competing in the Gulf South Conference her freshman and sophomore seasons, Abernathy was a First Team All-GSC selection in 2009 and a Second Team All-GSC selection in 2008.

Abernathy won eight tournaments in her career. 

Abernathy was named the athletic department's Margaret Blalock Award winner following both her junior and senior seasons.

In addition to success on the golf course, Abernathy was a two-time selection on the Presidential Honor Roll and All-Academic Team.

Abernathy received a bachelor of arts degree in Sociology.

OWEN BUTTS (MERITORIOUS SERVICE)
Owen Butts was an outstanding basketball player at Montevallo and later enjoyed a highly successful career as a high school basketball coach and college umpire, before retiring after 40 years. 

Butts earned All-conference honors in both his junior and senior years, and led the Falcons to their first conference championship in Montevallo's history. 

After graduating in 1973, Butts spent the next 40 years coaching high school basketball with stops at Vincent, Pelham, Shades Valley and Prattville.  His teams won 531 games, including 14 county championships, 14 area/region championships, 2 Final Four appearances and fifteen 20+ win seasons.  During this time, he was named Jefferson County Coach of the Year nine times.  In 1992, he was named to the Alabama Junior College Basketball Silver Anniversary team (1967-1992) and two years later was inducted into the Alabama Junior College Hall of Fame.

Additionally, Butts has been a high school and college baseball umpire for 45 years. During this time He has worked four DII World Series, seven NCAA DII Regionals worked, eight Ohio Valley Conference Tournaments and numerous SEC Conference games. Since retiring from full-time umpiring in 2012, Butts was an SEC Observer for Alabama and Mississippi State until 2017 and also serves as the president and assignor for Shelby County Umpires Association.

MICHAEL CHADWICK (MERITORIOUS SERVICE)
Michael Chadwick served in numerous roles during his 21 years at the University of Montevallo, most recently spending eight years as the Assistant Athletic Director for Internal Relations. He was responsible for overseeing business affairs, facility and event operations, as well as oversight of the sports medicine, strength and conditioning, softball and men's soccer programs. Prior to his promotion, Chadwick worked as Montevallo's head athletic trainer.

Chadwick was instrumental in the athletic facilities improvements and additions of the softball stadium, track and lacrosse complex, Kermit A. Johnson Field at Bob Riesener Stadium, Georgine Lemak Soccer Field, the tennis complex and the Student Activity Center weight room. 

His credentials also include being an active member of the Collegiate Event and Facility Management Association (CEFMA) and the College Athletic Business Management Associate (CABMA).

Chadwick is currently the Assistant Manager of Coleman Coliseum at the University of Alabama.
 
ROB KING (MERITORIOUS SERVICE)
Rob King, 2003 NCAA Division II Coach of the Year, helped raise multiple soccer programs to new heights. King spent 14 years as the head coach at Kennesaw State University, winning a national championship in 2003. King had a 168-80-21 (.742) mark with Kennesaw State, winning three Atlantic Sun Conference titles in 2006, 2007 and 2009, two Peach Belt Conference titles in 2003 and 2004, two NCAA DI postseason appearances and nine winning seasons.  He also was named Regional Coach of the Year in 2002.

King boasts a career record of 227-147-22 in 22 years of coaching women's soccer at the collegiate level. He boasts a career record of 92-43-9 in eight years of coaching men's soccer at the collegiate level.

In 1995, King was asked to take over the men's and women's soccer program at the University of Montevallo. In the six seasons at the helm of the women's team, King led the Falcons to post season play during four of those seasons and finished with a conference winning percentage of .500 or better during all five seasons of Gulf South Conference play.

In 1998, he was named the GSC Coach of the Year after leading his squad to a 10-5-2 record and an appearance in the GSC championship game. His stint as the men's coach included a 15-10-2 conference record, a GSC Co-Coach of the Year honor and a GSC Tournament title in 1999.

During King's final season at Montevallo, in 2000, he led the Lady Falcons to the best season in school history. He set the record for wins in a season, with 12, and made the GSC Tournament for the third consecutive year, a school first.

King is in his second season as head women's soccer coach at Young Harris College.
