SERIES HISTORY
  • Wednesday marks only the second time in series history that the Falcons will host the Saint Leo Lions. Montevallo previously hosted Saint Leo in November 2005, a 50-47 win in Trustmark Arena.
  • The Falcons hold the all-time series record at 4-2, but Saint Leo has won two of the last three games played with wins in 2009 and 2014, scoring 77 points in each game while holding UM to 40 and 65 points, respectively.
  • Montevallo defeated Saint Leo, 67-57, last November on the road. Nautika Philpot led UM with 17 points.
  • The first meeting between the two teams was in November 2001 in the Horton Homes Classic in Milledgeville, Georgia, a 71-65 Montevallo victory. Two years later, Montevallo won 70-65 in its first trip to Saint Leo, Florida.

EDUCATION DAY
  • UM will welcome 375 third, fourth and fifth grade students from Montevallo Elementary School to Wednesday's game.

MONTEVALLO
  • Montevallo has won its first two games for the second straight season. The Falcons are trying to win their first three games of a season for the first time since 2009-10.
  • Sophomore Shyan Flack has been the focal point of the Falcons' offense in the first two games of the season, having poured in an average of 18.5 points per game with a double-double in the season opener against Clark Atlanta.
  • UM has controlled the first two games on the defensive end of the floor. The Falcons held CAU and Tuskegee to a combined 28.8% (36-125) from the field, and 13.3% (4-30) from long range.
ST. LEO
  • St. Leo opened the season with a 1-1 weekend in the GSC/SSC Challenge. Playing at Florida Southern in Lakeland, Fla., The Lions lost to No. 14 Lee University 75-66 on Friday before bouncing back to take out the Alabama-Huntsville Chargers 86-75 in overtime.
  • Amanda Ulrich was the Lions leading scorer, averaging 20.5 points in the two contests on 45.5% shooting, and she added 9.5 rebounds per contest.
  • The Lions shot the ball well in the two games, and they played solid defense, but they struggled to take care of the basketball. St. Leo turned the ball over 35 times in the two games, allowing an average of 17.5 points off turnovers.
