MONTEVALLO, Ala. - In their first three games of the season, the University of Montevallo women's basketball team has relied on solid work on the defensive end to get the results they desire. On Wednesday morning, they coupled that with a monstrous offensive outburst in the third quarter to improve to 3-0 for the first time since the 2009-10 season. The matinee start allowed the opportunity for more than 300 student from Montevallo Elementary School students to witness the game, and the energy they brought to the arena helped lift the Falcons to victory.
Montevallo (3-0) poured in 31 points in the third frame, and they built a 10-point lead in the third quarter, erasing a six-point halftime deficit to down the St. Leo University Lions (1-2) 68-65.
