TUSKEGEE, Ala. - The University of Montevallo women's basketball team struggled in the third quarter of their first road game of the season, and as a result, the Falcons (3-1) fell on the road in a re-match with the Golden Tigers of Tuskegee University (2-2), 88-81. The loss is the first of the season for Montevallo and comes in the Falcons' final tune up before Gulf South Conference play.

How it Happened
1st Quarter
- Montevallo scored the first four points of the opening frame, but the quarter took on a back-and-forth feel as time wore on.
- The teams swapped runs of 10-2 (TU) and 8-0 (UM), before Montevallo closed the frame with six straight points to take a 24-18 lead after one quarter of play.
2nd Quarter
- Montevallo quickly stretched their lead to double digits twice in the early moments of the second period, but Tuskegee kept it close with six straight points to cut the UM lead to 28-24 at the 7:45 mark of the quarter.
- The Falcons led for the rest of the quarter, with their advantage reaching as many as 11 points in the frame, but a late 5-0 spurt helped Tuskegee close the halftime gap to 45-39.
3rd Quarter
- Montevallo scored six of the first eight points in the second half, but that is when Tuskegee took control.
- a 16-2 Tuskegee run that spanned 4:18 that helped Tuskegee grap a 57-53 lead, and an 8-1 run over the quarter's final 1:15 gave Tuskegee the 67-59 lead after 30 minutes of play.
4th Quarter
- Montevallo quickly cut the deficit to four points, but they were unable to draw even and Tuskegee stretched the lead back out to 13 at 82-69 with 3:31 to play.
- The Falcons scored 12 of the final 18 points points of the game, but they ran out of time, falling in the game 88-81.

The Falcons will return home on November 23 to open GSC action with a game against Delta State University (3-0). The game is scheduled to tip-off at 2 p.m.
