 HOW IT HAPPENED
- Southern Indiana scored three runs in the top of the first inning to take a 3-0 lead.
- The Falcons plated their first run in the bottom of the first inning on a RBI double by junior Mariel Bertossi to trim the deficit to 3-1.
- The Eagles scored another run in the top of the fourth inning to push their lead to 4-1.
- Montevallo trimmed the deficit to 4-2 in the bottom of the fifth inning when sophomore Alexis Cortez scored on a RBI sacrifice fly by junior Haley Barnette.
- The Falcons added another run in the bottom of the sixth inning to cut the Southern Indiana lead to 4-3 when senior Lady Sarah Federico scored on an error by the Eagles.
- Southern Indiana plated its final run in the top of the seventh inning to push its lead to 5-3.
- Sophomore Carlee Mullinax lined a RBI single to right field with two outs in the bottom of the seventh inning to make it a one-run game, but the Eagles recorded the final out one batter later to preserve the 5-4 decision.
