MONTEVALLO HIGHLIGHTS

• Junior Mariel Bertossi finished 1-for-1 at the plate with a home run, while scoring two runs.
• Senior Lady Sarah Federico went 1-for-2 at the plate with an RBI.
• Junior Haley Barnette finished 2-for-3 at the plate with one RBI, while scoring two runs.
• Junior Brianna Stella went 1-for-3 at the plate and scored one run.
• Sophomore Carlee Mullinax finished 2-for-3 at the plate with a home run, while scoring two runs.
• Junior Holly LaForce finished 2-for-3 at the plate with three RBI, while scoring one run.

 HOW IT HAPPENED

• The Falcons plated three runs in the bottom of first inning. First, junior Brianna Stella scored on an RBI single by junior Haley Barnette. Junior Mariel Bertossi then scored on a wild pitch and junior Holly LaForce singled to right field, scoring Barnette to lead 3-0.
• Montevallo added six runs in the bottom of the third inning. Bertossi homered to left field for her first home run of the season. Later, LaFocre tripled to right center scoring sophomore Carlee Mullinax and Barnette. Senior Lady Sarah Federico drove in Lafroce on an RBI double to right field. Senior Kirbi Tuck singled to left field, driving in freshman Caroline Pope. The Falcons plated their final run of the inning to lead 9-0 after Senior Marisa Sosa scored on a wild pitch
• Mullinax homered to left field in the bottom of the 4th extending Montevallo's lead to 10-0.
• The game ended due to the run rule, in the top of the fifth inning with Montevallo leading 10-0.
• Sophomore Mychael McMillan picked up her third win of the season in the circle, in a complete game shut out, with seven strikeouts.

• Senior Kendra Buckley finished 3-for-3 from the plate, with two home runs and six RBI.
• Freshman Georgia Hughes went 3-for-3 at the plate with one RBI.
• Junior Holly LaForce finished 1-for-2 at the plate, while scoring one run.
• Junior Haley Barnette finished 1-for-3 at the plate with one RBI.
• Freshman Caroline Pope and Senior Lady Sarah Federico each finished 1-for-3 from the plate.
• Junior Annie Adamos scored one run.
• Senior Jessica Boyd pitched a complete-game, five inning shutout for her first win of the season after allowing just three hits and striking out five batters.

 HOW IT HAPPENED

• In the bottom of the second inning, freshman Georgia Hughes scored junior Holly LaForce on an RBI single. Later in the inning, Senior Kendra Buckley hit an inside-the-park home run, scoring Hughes and Junior Annie Adamos, to lead 4-0.
• The Falcons plated two more runs in the bottom of the fourth inning when Buckley singled up the middle, scoring Hughes. Barnette then reached on a fielders choice, scoring Buckley, to lead 6-0.
• Buckley blasted a two-run home run over the left field wall, in the bottom of the fifth inning, scoring Hughes, to end the game on the run rule with Montevallo up 8-0.
• Senior Jessica Boyd pitched a complete game shut out for her first win of the season, allowing just three hits and striking out five batters.

The Falcons will host Delta State University in a doubleheader Saturday, Feb. 16 at Orr Park in their Gulf South Conference opener. First pitch is set for 1 p.m.
