MONTEVALLO HIGHLIGHTS
- The Falcons set a program record in triples in a single game with four triples in the win. Montevallo complied a season high 21 hits.
- Senior Tyler Krabbe finished 4-for-7 at the plate as he hit-for-the-cycle with a three-run homer, a triple, a double, and a single. Krabbe totaled three RBI and four runs. Â
- Senior Khari Anderson went 5-for-6 at the plate with a triple and a two-run home run. Anderson totaled three RBI and three runs.
- Junior Sebastian Samuels went 2-for-5 at the plate, with a triple, while driving in two runs and scoring two runs.
- Junior Jake Morris went 4-for-5 at the plate while scoring three runs.
- Senior Jason Cryar finished 3-for-7 at the plate while driving in one run and scoring one run.
- Freshman Ben Teel finished 2-for-5 at the plate, with a triple, totaling four RBI.
- Junior Chandler Ingram (2-0) picked up his second win of the season in three 1/3 innings pitched and recorded one strikeout.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Montevallo took a 3-0 lead in the bottom of the first when senior Tyler Krabbe homered to left field, scoring junior Jake Morris and senior Khari Anderson.
- In the top of the fifth inning, freshman Ben Teel tripled to right center field, scoring Krabbe and junior Sebastian Samuels to lead 5-2.
- Union took the lead 6-5 in the bottom of the fifth inning after plating four runs in the frame.
- In the top of the sixth inning the Falcons plated four runs when Anderson tripled to right field, scoring Morris, to tie the game 6-6. Senior Jason Cryar singled up the middle, scoring Anderson, to take the lead 7-6. Samuels singled through the left side, scoring Cryar, to push the Falcons' lead to 8-6. Teel reached on a fielder's choice scoring Krabbe to lead 9-6.
- In the top of the eighth inning, Krabbe singled up the middle to hit-for-the-cycle.Â
- Montevallo added two runs in the eighth to lead 11-6 after Samuels scored Krabbe on an RBI triple, and Teel scored Samuels on a sacrifice fly.Â
- Union tied the game 11-11 in the bottom of the ninth to force extra innings.Â
- Montevallo took the lead 13-11 in the top of the 11thinning when Anderson homered to right field, scoring Cryar.
- Junior Chandler Ingram retired Unions' side in the bottom of the inning to win 13-11.
