SALISBURY, N.C. – The University of Montevallo men's golf team finished fourth in team standings at the Richard Rindleman Invitational hosted by Catawba College.
"This week was a bit of a different situation," said Montevallo men's golf assistant coach
Andrew Lowry. "We started off the weekend in Mississippi and had the tournament cancelled on us Sunday. Less than 24 hours later we are in North Carolina teeing it up at the Catawba event. Having to fill the spot in the schedule so quickly is something that hardly ever happens. Coach (Justin) Pratt and I were really proud of the way the guys handled the adversity and how they finished off the event with a solid second round."
Playing as an individual, senior
Gary King finished in a tie for fourth overall in individual standings with his two-round total of 2-over par 144.
The Falcons collectively carded a 36-over par 604 in the two-round event, with a first round score of 311 before shaving off 18 stroke to post a 293 in the second round.
Junior
Luke Wilson and sophomore
Brady Carman finished tied for ninth overall in individual standings after carding a 5-over par 147.
Junior
Paul Murphy finished tied for 18th overall in individual standings with his 10-over par 152.
Junior
Brett Batchelor fired a 16-over par 158, which placed him in a tie for 33rd overall in individual standings.
