HOW IT HAPPENED
- West Alabama took a 1-0 lead in the top of the second inning on a RBI infield single by Kacey Noland.
- The Falcons tied the game at 1-1 in the bottom of the second inning on a RBI sacrifice fly by senior Lady Sarah Federico.
- The Tigers took a 2-1 lead in the top of the third inning on a RBI infield single by Olivia Dunlap.
- Montevallo again tied the game at 2-2 on a RBI double to left-center field by sophomore Brooke Ingram.
- West Alabama plated a pair of runs in the top of the fourth inning and extended its lead to 5-2 on a RBI single by Grace Self in the top of the fifth inning.
- Junior Mariel Bertossi trimmed the deficit to 5-3 in the bottom of the fifth inning with her RBI single.
- West Alabama extended its lead to 7-3 with a pair of runs in the top of the sixth inning.
- The Falcons scored a run on a RBI sacrifice fly by junior Brianna Stella and senior Marisa Sosa scored on a wild pitch to trim the deficit to 7-5 in the bottom of the sixth inning.
- Junior Haley Barnette started the rally with a solo homer before back-to-back RBI singles by Stella and junior Mariel Bertossi secured the walk-off win for the Falcons in the bottom of the seventh inning.
