HOW IT HAPPENED
- Columbus State plated one run in the top of the first inning, scoring on a passed ball.
- Montevallo took a 4-1 lead in the bottom of the frame when junior Davis Lott blasted a grand slam to right field scoring seniors Khari Anderson, Jason Cryar, and Tyler Krabbe.
- Dane Bullock hit a two-run homer over the left field wall to plate two runs for Columbus State and trail Montevallo 4-3 in the top of the second inning.Â
- Columbus State took the lead 5-4 on a two-RBI single by Drew Webb. Later, Drake Kirkwood blasted a two-run homer to lead Montevallo 7-4 in the top of the fourth.
- Krabbe hit a solo home run to left hit to trim Columbus State's lead to 7-5 in the bottom of the fifth inning. Junior Davis Lott scored on a wild pitch, cutting the Cougars' lead to 7-6.
- Bullock hit his second home run of the day in the top of the sixth inning to extend the Cougars lead to 8-6 over Montevallo.
- The Falcons tied the game 8-8 in the bottom of the sixth inning on a two-RBI single from Lott with two outs in the frame.
- Drake Kirkwood gave Columbus State the lead 10-8 on a two-RBI double in the top of the tenth inning.Â
- Anderson singled to left field in the bottom of the tenth inning, scoring Senior John Michael Reed for Montevallo to trim Columbus State's lead to 10-9.
