Montevallo, Ala. – The University of Montevallo baseball head coach Chandler Rose has announced the addition of 24 incoming players to the 2019-20 roster.

This year's additions include 11 transfers and 13 high school players from seven different states and one Canadian province.

"I'm excited to announce this class and add them to a great group of returners," said Rose. "Our coaching staff did a tremendous job and worked extremely hard to put this class together. I want to think Coach Bush and Coach Jackson for all their time and hard work helping put this class together."

Alabama boasts the most players from a single state with 10 players, with seven of them entering Montevallo as true freshmen.  Florida (5) and Georgia (4) are the other two states with multiple athletes that will be joining the roster. The states of Tennessee, Ohio, Missouri, Illinois and the Canadian Province of Ontario all have one player joining the team.

"We brought in a lot of guys that I think have a chance to make an immediate impact and are very talented," added Rose. "But more importantly we brought in guys that exemplify the makeup and character we are looking for in a Montevallo player."

The incoming class comes in ranked as the No. 4 overall recruiting class among NCAA Division II schools in the country by Perfect Game.

Rose is excited for this new class and can't wait to see how they develop over the coming months and years.

2018: Made 12 starts on the mound at Youngstown State University…struck out 41 batters over 67 and 1/3 innings pitched as a sophomore.
2017: Made 14 appearances on the mound for the University at Buffalo…recorded 22 strikeouts over 42 innings pitched.

Ryan Duncan // RHP // St. Pete CC // Bradenton, FL

2019: Appeared in 15 games during his sophomore season with St. Pete CC…carried a 3.59 earned run average over 62 1/3 innings pitched.
2018: Appeared in eight games at Northwest Florida State College as a freshman.

Daniel Buice // LHP // Lawson State CC // Winder, GA

2019: Appeared in 13 games during the 2019 season…carried a 5-2 record over 79 and 1/3 innings…posted a 2.04 earned run average along with 61 total strikeouts…led all Alabama Junior Colleges in ERA.
2018: Appeared in 13 games during the 2018 season…carried a 1-1 record over 36 and 1/3 innings pitched…recorded 32 strikeouts.
