MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The University of Montevallo volleyball team opened up the 2019 Gulf South Conference schedule with a thrilling 3-2 win over Auburn-Montgomery this evening.
After winning the first set, the Falcons alternated with the Warhawks the rest of the way before winning the tie-breaking fifth set in dominant fashion, 15-6.
The Falcons improved to 7-6 on the season following the win, and open up GSC play 1-0.

GAME NOTES
- Evelina Teran and Desiree Rodriguez led the Falcons offensive attack with 15 kills each in the match.
- Teran also totaled 13 digs and 15 points along with her 15 kills.
- Savannah Roys was the Falcons' leader in assists with 43 in the win over AUM.
- Brioni Dixon chipped in 13 kills while Danielle Lee added 12.
- Roys also totaled a team-high 16 digs in the win.
- Hannah Fernandez and Dixon each registered four blocks for the Falcons defensively.
- Montevallo edged the Warhawks in bocks 10-8.
- Offensively, the Falcons totaled 65 kills compared to just 52 by AUM.
