FRANKLIN SPRINGS, Ga. – The Montevallo mens swimming team ended the final day of the Emmanuel College Mid-Season Invitational in second place.
Emmanuel college finished first in the field, followed by Point University who finished third, with Piedmont coming in fourth.
MEET NOTES
Jacob Rubin won the 200 yard freestyle after clocking a first place time of 1:43.82 securing 20 points for the Falcons.
Parker Bell came in third notching a time of 1:48.72.
Ray Asmakis won the 1650 yard freestyle after he clocked a first place qualifying time of 16:52.48 in the event. Josh Sauer finished second in the event turning in a finals time of 18:08.39.
Leo Olaru notched the highest amount of points for UM in the 200 yard butterfly (15 points) coming in fourth with a time of (2:04.53).
Will Mahone put up the most points for the Falcons in the 100 yard backstroke notching a time of 53.17 to claim second in the event.
Thom Naccarato led the Falcons in the 200 yard backstroke on day two, claiming second in the event with a time of 1:58.21
Ergi Veli led the way in the 200 yard breaststroke after finishing with a time of 2:15.65 to secure third place in the event.

The Falcons finished second in the 400 yard medley relay after

Connor Daigle,
Leo Olaru, and
Parker Bell clocked a time of 3:39.93 in the event.
Montevallo finished second in the 400 yard freestyle relay after
Thom Naccarato,
Parker Bell,
Leo Olaru, and
Jacob Rubin turned in a time of 3:17.37 in the event.
Connor Daigle led the way for UM in the 400 yard IM notching a time of 4:13.76 to claim first in the event. Newcomer
Ergi Veli notched third with his finishing time of 4:22.92. Daigle was also the top UM finisher in the 100 yard breaststroke coming in third with a finals time of 1:00.69.
NEWCOMER POTENTIAL
The Falcons saw improvement from its freshman and transfers across multiple events during the first in person meet of the season.
Ray Asmakis proved to be a potential top contributer for the Falcons for years to come after claiming first place in two events. The Bradenton, Florida native notched a school record in the 500 yard
freestyle (4:50.99)and clocked a personal best in the 1650 yard freestyle (16:52.48).
Jacob Rubin was the overall winner of the 200 yard freestyle after swimming a personal best time of 1:43.82 in the event.
Andre McCloud recorded personal best times in the 100 yard butterfly (58.19), 50 yard freestyle (24.56), and the 200 yard freestyle (2:00.63).
NEXT UP: The Falcons will compete in the DePauw and Wabash Virtual Invite starting on Tuesday and will complete the remaining rounds of the CSCAA Virtual Cup following those events.
