ROME, Ga. – The University of Montevallo womens basketball team picked up a 91-46 win over Shorter on Saturday in Rome.
The Falcons were led by
Savannah Lee who scored 14 points on 66 percent shooting while collecting five rebounds, two steals, and one assist. Marissa Snodgrass and
Tiara McLeod both added ten points to the Falcon win along with
Jordan Jones who put up nine points.
Montevallo came to play Saturday starting the game in control taking the lead to 12-6 by the time the first media timeout occurred. The Falcons would end the quarter up by ten with a score of 18-8 going into the second.
The momentum continued in the second quarter as the Falcons went on a 13-2 scoring run in the first 4:53 of the period. Montevallo maintained control in the quarter ending it with a 40-12 lead.
UM's effort did not waver after halftime, coming out with a 12-0 run in the first 3:54 of the second half. The Falcons pushed the lead to 42 points by the end of the third making the score 72-30.
The Falcons continued to dominate the scoreboard in the fourth quarter ending the game with a 91-46 win over the Warhawks.
Montevallo will be back in action on January 2 and January 3 for a double header weekend against Lee. The first game will be at 4:00 and the Sunday game will be at 2:00 in Trustmark Arena.
