MONTEVALLO, Ala - For seniors
Wade Lowman and
Cedric Jackson, their last game at Trustmark Arena was one where they gave everything they had to will Montevallo to victory. They just ran out of gas down the stretch as the Falcons dropped a GSC rival game to Alabama-Huntsville 79-68.
The Falcons trailed the Chargers by 13 in the 2
nd half but the Falcons closed the lead to 68-66 with 5:17 left. UAH went on a 7-point run over the next 2 minutes to stretch the lead to 75-66 and then held off the Falcons for the win.
Lowman scored 21 points on 7-10 from the field and 7-8 from the free throw line. He also added 8 rebounds in an outstanding effort. Jackson scored 18 points on the strength of 4-8 from three-point range. Xavier Malcolm added 15 points by making 5 three-pointers.
NEXT UP: The loss drops the Falcons to 12-15, 7-10 in the GSC. Montevallo has secured the #8 seed for the GSC tourney and will play at Valdosta State or Lee on Super Tuesday of next week. UAH is currently 3
rd in the GSC with a 22-5 overall record, 14-5 in the GSC.
