Montevallo Women’s Tennis Sweeps Spring Hill

MONTEVALLO, AL—The Montevallo women's tennis team defeated regional opponent Spring Hill 7-0 on Friday afternoon at the Montevallo Tennis Complex. The Falcons are now 4-1 (2-1 GSC) this season while the Spring Hill Badgers drop to 6-4.
In doubles action, the team of freshman Mireia Turro and junior Dorotea Hanzek picked up a 6-3 win at line one to improve their record to an unbeaten 5-0 this spring. Sophomore Whitney Hamilton and freshman Cyba Ozzor teamed up for the first time to collect a 6-0 victory at line three, while the duo of freshman Eva Dirr and senior Amanda Gautreaux won 6-2 at line two for their third victory of the season.
The Falcons won all six singles matches without dropping a set. Eva Dirr and Dorotea Hanzek were able to win at line 4 and line 6, respectively, without dropping a single game. Senior Amanda Gautreaux won her 49th career singles match as a Falcon with a 7-6(5), 6-1 victory at line three.
 
The Falcons are back in action on Friday, March 6 vs Flagler College in Columbus, Georgia.
