MONTEVALLO, Ala. – The University of Montevallo women's basketball team is back in the win column after defeating Lee University 75-69 to earn their first home win of the season. After losing the first two games of the season, UM has now won six of their last seven.
It was a tightly contested, back-and-forth game all afternoon, as the contest had 18 lead changes and nine ties. Each team used several different large runs to keep the game competitive.
The Flames started the game off strong, jumping out to a quick 9-2 lead with 8:11 left in the first quarter. The Falcons then went on a 12-0 run to take a 14-9 lead with 5:27 left in the first. Lee ended the quarter on a 15-5 run to take a five-point advantage into the second.

It was more of the same in the third, as each team continued to trade baskets. Heading into the fourth quarter, Lee held a two-point lead, but the Falcons scored the first seven points of the final stanza and held the lead for the remainder of the contest.
