Game Recap: Women's Soccer | | UM Athletics Communications

Falcons Fall 3-1 to UAH

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. - The Montevallo women's soccer team came up short 3-1 in an in-state match against Alabama-Huntsville. The Falcons slipped to 5-6 and 2-5 in the GSC with the loss, while UAH improved to 5-3-2 and 3-2-1 in the GSC. 
 
Montevallo battled during the game, playing scrappy physical defense in the first half.  UAH played strict defense of their own against UM with neither teams finding the net in the first half. 
 
No goal was scored until the 71st minute when Brynn Colvin played a ball for Carmen Endicott to score for the Chargers.  UAH notched another goal in the following six minutes after Mackenzie Kandil put it in the UM net for a 2-0 lead late in the second half.  
 
The Chargers tabbed a added some insurance in the 85th minute when Laura Hasani took advantage of a penalty kick opportunity to make it 3-0..
 
Despite the deficit the Falcons kept the fight against UAH, scoring a late goal in the 88th minute off of the boot of Melanie Stevens to avoid the shutout.. 
 
UP NEXT:  Montevallo will travel west to Livingston for an additional in-state match up against West Alabama on Sunday. Kickoff is slated for 1:00 p.m.
