A LOOK BACK AT THE WEEK THAT WAS - NOV 15-21

VOLLEYBALL
The Falcons played for the Gulf South Conference title in Pensacola, Fla. over the weekend. Entering the tournament as the sixth seed, the Falcons beat 7th seed West Georgia 3-1 and the 3rd seed Union 3-0 on Friday, then knocked off the No. 2 seed UAH 3-1 on Saturday to advance to the championship match against the top seed and 7th-ranked West Florida Argonauts. The Falcons battled but came up short 3-1 to the Argos. Senior outside hitter Evelina Teran and freshman hitter Allie Dishman were selected to the GSC All-Tournament team. The Falcons finished the season with a record of 21-14.Â
Off the court, Teran and Dishman were selected to the 2021 All-GSC team. Teran made the first team, while Dishman earned a spot on the second team.

MEN'S CROSS COUNTRY
Senior Joe Leventry made Montevallo history by becoming the first men's runner to compete in the NCAA Division II National Championship race. He finished the race 172nd out of 245 of the best runners in the country. Leventry finished the 10K race with a time of 33:28.8, finishing off a stellar career as a Falcon.

SWIMMING
The Falcons swim teams swept Millsaps College on Saturday morning at the SAC Natatorium. The men's team won 187-124, while the women stroked their way to a 185-109 victory. The UM men's team improved to 2-0 in head-to-head meets while the ladies picked up their first win of the season, evening their record at 1-1.

MEN'S BASKETBALL
The Falcons suffered a pair a tough losses over the weekend at UAH's Bill Penney Classic in Huntsville. A buzzer-beater doomed the Falcons on Saturday in a 73-71 loss to West Georgia. Then on Sunday, Columbus State clipped the Falcons wings by the skinny margin of 69-68. UM is now 1-4 on the season.

WOMEN'S BASKETBALL
The ladies of prey took on a pair of top flight opponents over the weekend and didn't fair well. On Friday, the Falcons suffered a 70-58 setback against Clayton State, then went down to No. 6 North Georgia 87-71.Â
UM fell to 3-3 with the two losses.
