Former UM Volleyball Player Featured in SI.com Article

MONTEVALLO, Ala. - Former Montevallo volleyball player Jennifer Fry was featured in an article on SI.com earlier this week.

Fry played two years at UM in 2000 and 2001. She is listed in the record books among the players with the most kills and blocks in a match and was also part of a Falcons team that earned a bid to the NCAA tournament.

Fry had 27 kills in a match against Saginaw Valley on Aug. 26, 2000, which ranks her 10th all-time. She is also tied for sixth with several other UM players in total blocks in a match with 10 against West Alabama on Oct. 9, 2001.

Fry is featured in a spotlight by Sports Illustrated and Empower Onyx on the diverse journeys of Black women across sports—from the veteran athletes, to up-and-coming stars, coaches, executives and more—in the series, Elle-evate: 100 Influential Black Women in Sports.
