MONTEVALLO - The Montevallo women's basketball team bounced back with a 92-64 win over the Cumberland University Phoenix. With the win the Falcons advance to 5-6 on the season with the Phoenix falling to 5-8 for the year.

Gary Van Atta. "I was really proud of how hard we played and how focused we were. It was nice to see everyone get some significant playing time. We got a good look at the future tonight, I guess it was the new gold uniforms!"
The game was tight in the initial stages of the evening with both teams trading baskets in the first three minutes of the game. The Falcons turned up the intensity midway through the period, setting off a 12-2 run before ending the first quarter with a 25-17 advantage.
The Falcons exploded in the second quarter extending their lead 44-26 by the time the first media timeout was taken. Montevallo kept their foot on the gas petal to close out the half with a 22 point advantage over the Phoenix.
Montevallo came into the second half with the same tenacity as the first extending their lead to 32 points by the end of the third period. The Falcons executed in the fourth quarter to finish the game 92-64.
Jordan Jones led the Falcons with 17 points along with four rebounds, and two assists.
