MONTEVALLO, Ala. – The University of Montevallo baseball team took an 8-5 loss to West Georgia in game one of the Sunday doubleheader.
The Falcons were aggressive to start the game as a
Riley Cain double in the bottom of the first, made way for him to be brought in by
Khalid Collymore for the first run of the game.
West Georgia (3-2) quickly responded in the top of the second with a home run to make their first run of the afternoon. The Wolves would put up three more runs in the inning setting an early 4-1 lead over the Falcons.
Montevallo (2-3) would answer in the bottom of the third with a run of their own. The Falcon's then went scoreless for the next two innings as UWG was able to put up a run in both the fourth and the fifth.
UM, batting in the sixth inning, fired off three runs to make the score 8-5. The Falcons couldn't put together enough runs to make a comeback as both teams went scoreless for the duration of the game.
Grayson Bray (0-2) took the loss for UM on the mound.

Khalid Collymore each had two hits for the Falcons.
