MONTEVALLO, Ala. - Lee University completed the two-game sweep over the Montevallo Falcons winning 70-55 Saturday afternoon at Trustmark Arena.
The Flames started the game on a 16-2 run and never looked back as they led at the half 30-18 over the cold shooting Falcons.
In the second half,
Shannon Woody made an old fashion three-point play to pull the Falcons to within five, 34-29 with 16:38 remaining. The Flames were able to regroup and extend their lead to 22 points with 2:04 left in the game.
Xavier Malcom led Montevallo with 13 points. Noah Bolar came off the bench to lead Lee with 13 points.
The loss drops Montevallo to 6-7. Lee's record is 11-4 and they sit in second place in the GSC Eastern Division.
UP NEXT: The Falcons welcome the West Florida Argonauts for a 6:00 pm game Tuesday night. The Falcons have played the Argonauts three times this season and have two wins and one loss.
