LIVINGSTON, Ala. - The Montevallo womens tennis team dropped a match against West Alabama 6-1 on Tuesday in Livingston.
The match began with doubles, as UM's
Mireia Turro and
Dorotea Hanzek lost to UWA's Sarah Manseri and Heden Ly on the No. 1 court, 6-1. Likewise, Montevallo's No. 2 duo of
Emily Hafner and
Cyba Ozzor were handed a 6-3 defeat from Haina Franco and Daryna Hukasian. The Falcon's No. 3 duo of
Eva Dirr and
Isabelle Barfoot pulled off a win against the Tigers Morgan Bishop and Valeria Arevalo, 6-3. West Alabama secured the doubles point for an early 1-0 lead in the dual match
Singles also proved to be tough for the Falcons as the Tigers secured all but one of the six matches. Montevallo's lone win came at the No. 4 court from
Eva Dirr in a two-set battle against Thea Yang, with Dirr taking a 6-3 win in the first set and a 6-1 win in set two.
UP NEXT: The Falcon's will continue the spring season in Montgomery against Tuskegee, on Fridat February 26th.
