VALDOSTA, Ga. - The Falcons traveled to Valdosta State University to open conference play on Saturday against Valdosta State and West Georgia.
To begin the day, the Falcons put up 14 blocks in a three-set sweep of the host Blazers (25-18, 25-15, 25-22). Sophomore
Morgan Hoffman contributed on seven of those blocks, including two solo blocks, and freshman
Jillian Morgan contributed on six, including one solo block.
Montevallo also scored from the service line with nine service aces.Â
Amanda Nugent served up seven of them while
Evelina Teran scored on the other two.
For the match, the Falcons won the attacking battle by putting down 36 kills for a .212 attack percentage. Teran led the way with 10, Hoffman with 8, while Morgan and Nugent put down six each.Â
Savannah Roys (13 Assists) and
Isabelle Fuell (12 Assists) split the setting duties.

The afternoon match was a rematch from last weekend against the West Georgia Wolves. Defense reigned supreme as freshman
Casey Hendrixson put up a career-high 39 digs, the fifth most digs in a single match in Falcon history.Â
As a defensive unit, the Falcons posted 101 digs in the match, holding the Wolves to a .110 attack percentage as Montevallo earned a 3-1 victory (25-22, 25-18, 21-25, 25-22).
Hendrixson (39 Digs, 10 Assists),
Savannah Roys (27 Assists, 14 Digs),
Isabelle Fuell (24 Assists, 12 Digs), and
Evelina Teran (20 Kills, 17 Digs) each posted a double-double in the match.Â
Amanda Nugent tied Teran with a match-high 20 kills.
The Falcons improve to 2-0 in GSC play and are now tied with Auburn Montgomery atop the GSC Group B standings. The Warhawks also earned wins over VSU and UWG this weekend.
