MONTEVALLO, Ala. - The Montevallo men's basketball team fell 82-65 against UAH, Wednesday evening in Huntsville. The Falcons slipped to 8-13 overall and 6-7 in the Gulf South Conference with their fifth straight loss. Meanwhile, UAH improved to 12-8 and 5-6 in the GSC.
Despite the outcome,
Braxton Bertolette continued to be a bright spot for the Falcons, finishing the game with 19 points, five rebounds, two assists, and a steal.
Shannon Woody added 12 points while
Jason King contributed 11.
Montevallo lead early in the game after a Bertolette three-pointer gave the Falcons a 11-10 lead with 13:42 left in the half. The Chargers quickly recaptured the lead and took a 37-30 lead into the lockerroom at halftime.
Xavier Malcom opened the second half with a three-pointer, cutting the deficit to 37-33. But, UAH answered with a 14-2 run to take a commanding 51-35 lead with just under 16 minutes left in the game. The Chargers led by as much as 19 points before setting for the final tally.
