MONTEVALLO, Ala. - The Montevallo women's basketball team had three players score in double digits en route to a 67-55 victory over the UAH Chargers, Wednesday evening in Huntsville. With the win the Falcons avenged a loss to the Chargers in early January, while improving to 9-11 overall and 5-7 in the Gulf South Conference. Meanwhile, UAH fell to 3-12 and 2-8 in conference.
For the second consecutive game, junior guard
Marisa Snodgrass led UM with a game-high 21 points Snodgrass also tied her career high in both rebounds (9) and steals (6), while dishing out six assists. A.K. Eastman dropped in 14 points, while
Shyan Flack contributed 11 points and seven rebounds.
Selena Pruitt and Alexis Woods paced UAH with 11 points apiece.
The Falcons led 19-15 at the end of the first period, then raced out to a double-digit lead on the strength of a 10-2 run in the first 6:40 of the second quarter. A freethrow by
Jennifer Andrew gave UM a 29-17 lead with 4:20 left in the half. The Chargers made a late run to cut the Falcons lead to 34-27 at halftime.
The Falcons came out firing in the second half scoring the first nine points of the quarter increase their lead to 43-27 with 8:33 left in the quarter. UAH never got within double-figures the rest of the game.
UP NEXT: The Falcons return to home court for a rematch against Christian Brothers, on Saturday, January 29th. Tip-off is scheduled for 2:00 PM at Trustmark Arena.
