HUNTSVILLE, Ala. - The University of Montevallo Volleyball team dropped a Gulf South Conference road contest, 3-0 to the University of Alabama-Huntsville, Friday.
With the loss, the Falcons have dropped three in a row and have moved to a tie for fourth place in the GSC standings at 8-5 overall.
UM hit just .060 in the match, the lowest of the season and totaled just 26 kills which is also a season-low.
Montevallo fell behind early in the first set 14-8, following a 6-0 run for the chargers, and were unable to make up any ground, dropping the set 25-15. A kill from Allie Dishman attempted to halt UAH's momentum in the second set as it capped an early 8-2 run. UM held a lead until a service ace from the Chargers evened the match 21-21. The home side took its first lead of the set following a kill, 25-24 and went on to win the set, 26-24. In the third set UAH opened 11-2 over the Falcons and sustained a lead the rest of the way, winning 25-13, and 3-0 in the match.
Jillian Morgan led the Falcons with sic kills and hit .235 in the match while Aliyah Thompson hit .273 with five kills.
