MONTEVALLO, Ala. – The University of Montevallo Volleyball team defeated Lee, 3-0, at home in Trustmark Arena, on Senior Day.
 
With the win, the Falcons clinch a spot in the Gulf South Conference Tournament and move to 9-5 in league play.
 
Prior to Saturday's match, the Falcons honored three seniors in fifth-year setter Sav Roys, setter Isabelle Fuell and outside hitter Macy Lowery. All three seniors have seen success during their time at Montevallo, both on and off the court.
 
The Falcons were off and running to begin the game and led 11-6 following a service ace for Macy Martin. UM held the Flames to just three points the rest of the set, winning in dominant fashion, 25-9.
 
In the second set, Montevallo once again opened on-top following an 8-2 run that was capped with a service ace from Megan Schram. Allie Dishman finished the set off with a kill, 25-16. Lee did not lead in the set.
 
Montevallo raced ahead of the Flames, 14-4 to open the third set following a Lee attack error. Three consecutive kills and a bad set by Lee pushed the Falcons in front, 18-5. Another service ace for Schram gave Montevallo a huge 21-6 lead. Lee scored eight points down the stretch but it wasn't enough as a kill from Lowery secure the set-win, 25-14, and the match 3-0.
 
Service aces were a huge advantage for the Falcons as they outpaced the Flames 11-2 in that regard, tying a season-high. Roys led Montevallo with four while Macy Martin and Schram each had three.

• Casey Hendrixson notched a team-high 10 digs.
• The Falcons hit .371 in the match, the second-highest total of the year. Lee hit just .082.
• Montevallo recorded 42 kills compared to 23 for Lee.

 
Up Next: The Falcons will close out the regular season on the road next week with a Thursday matchup in Livingston, Ala. on Nov. 3 against West Alabama at 6 p.m. The season will officially conclude on Friday, Nov. 4 against Mississippi Collège.
