Men's Golf Finishes Sixth at Citrus Intercollegiate

HAMPIONSGATE, Fla. – The Montevallo men's golf team posted a two-under team score in round three of the Citrus Intercollegiate to move up one spot and finish sixth, Tuesday.
 
Sophomore Eric Boutwell paced the Falcons with a six-under three-round total to finish tied-sixth.
 
Valentino Fantozzi moved up 12 spots in the final round to finish tied-eighth after carding a three-under 69 for a total of three-under 211.
 
The biggest move on the board Tuesday for the Falcons was a 27-spot jump for Landon Wockenfuss as he shot a four-under 68 in the final round to finish tied-17th with a two-under 214.
 
The Falcons finished tied for third after carding a 284 team score in round one but dropped to seventh with a 288 in round two. A 286 in the final round helped the Falcons climb one stop in the final standings and card a two-under 858 in the event.
 
Bryant Raynowska competed as an individual and finished tied-54th with a three-round 220. He carded a 69 in the first round.

TOURNAMENT NOTES
  • Landon Wockenfuss' 68 in the final round was the lowest round of the tournament for the Falcons.
  • Boutwell, Fantozzi and Wockenfuss each carded a round in the 60s. Fantozzi and Wockenfuss each did so in the final round.
  • Fantozzi and Boutwell each shot under par in each round of the event.
  • There were eight rounds under par for the Falcons as a team.
  • Montevallo was one of three GSC teams in the event. UM finished ahead of Shorter (T10) and behind West Florida (5).
  • The Falcons were one of three teams with two top-10 finishers are were the only team from the GSC to feature a player in the top-10.
