LAKELAND, Fla. – Montevallo men's golf finished 14^th at the Matlock Classic with a three-round score of 64-over in the three-round event hosted by Florida Southern.
 
Montevallo opened the tournament with a first-round score of 25-over before improving by 20 strokes in the second round with a team score of five-over in the second 18 holes. The Falcons finished the tournament with a round-three score of 34-over for its final placement of 14^th.
 
Freshman Brant Carman led Montevallo's individuals with a three-round score of eight-over to finish 36^th at the event. In round one, Carman shot 76 (+4) before firing four birdies for an even-par score of 72 in round two. Carman finished the week with a round three 76 (+4). Miles Miller posted a 64^th-place finish with a total score of +15 with a round one 80 (+8) before adding five birdies in round two for a score of 72 (E). Miller's third round ended with a score of 79 (+7) and three birdies. Rounding out the Falcons' scores for the week was a 23-over score from Seth Rogers while Bentley Van Pelt and Russell Boren III finish +79 for the week.
