JACKSONVILLE, Ala. – The University of Montevallo women's basketball team dropped an exhibition contest to Jacksonville State University, 69-64, Tuesday afternoon at Pete Mathews Coliseum.
With 3:40 to go in the game, Chole Johnson gave the Falcons a 59-58 lead following a layup. Jacksonville state outscored the Falcons 11-6 over the final three minutes to hold off UM's upset bid, winning 69-64. Down four with 1:40 to go,
Marisa Snodgrass drained a three-pointer in the corner to make it a one-point game, 65-64. A potential game-tying three with 16 seconds remaining fell short for Snodgrass.

Shyan Flack and Jordan Parker led the way for Montevallo in the mid-day exhibition. Snodgrass added 11 points to go along with three assists and Isabel Grimes recorded eight points in her first game as a Falcon.

HOW IT HAPPENED

st | Montevallo led 7-5 early on following a pair of free-throws from Snodgrass. JSU closed the period on an 11-2 run to lead the Falcons.

nd | The Falcons outscored JSU 24-21 in the second period and shot 72 percent from the field. Parker scored 10 points.

rd | Neither side shot well in the third and each added 13 points, JSU led 50-46.

Miriam Oldacre opened the period on a 4-0 run for the Falcons, to tie, 50-50. After Chole Johnson gave the Falcons a one-point lead, 59-58 with 3:40 to go, JSU closed the game on an 11-6 run to win, 69-64.
GAME NOTES
- Jordan Parker scored 10 of her 14 points in the second period as Montevallo outscored the Gamecocks 24-21.
- An 8-0 run in the third quarter to trim JSU's lead to two, included seven points from Grimes and was the largest run of the game for UM.
- Montevallo outrebounded the Gamecocks 36-35 and outscored the home side in the paint 30-26.
- JSU won the turnover battle 15-12 but the Falcons managed 12 points-from-turnovers, compared to 10 for JSU.
- Three-pointers was an advantage for JSU as the Gamecocks were 10-of-30. Imari Martin led the way with five threes. UM was 5-of-16 from beyond-the-arc.
Up Next: The Falcons will open the regular season on Friday, Nov. 11 in the Gulf South/Sunshine State Conference Challenge at Trustmark Arena, at 4 p.m. against Nova Southeastern.
