MONTEVALLO, Ala. – Montevallo women's basketball's comeback bid fell short against Embry-Riddle, 53-50, on Saturday afternoon.
Going into the fourth quarter, the Falcons trailed 44-33 before outscoring the Eagles 17-9 in the final stanza.
Jordan Parker's 15-foot jumper in the early going of the fourth sparked the Falcons offense with
Marisa Snodgrass knocking down a transition three to cut the lead to single digits to just two possessions later. ERAU stretched the lead back to 11 after a three-pointer from Keturah Balabyekkubo with 5:29 left in the game.
Chloe Johnson added two more points in the paint for Montevallo to start the Falcons' final push with five minutes to go. A huge three from
Sara Strohmeyer made it a two-possession game,51-45, with less than a minute to go. Snodgrass drew the foul on a made layup to bring the Falcons within four.
Isabel Grimes pulled down a pivotal offensive rebound and kicked the ball to
Anna Katherine Eastman who knocked down a three, in the corner, to cut the deficit to one, 51-50, with 29 second to go.
Michaella Edwards come up with a massive steal with 25 seconds left to give the Falcons one last chance to take the lead. A costly turnover and late foul from Montevallo sent ERAU to the free throw line where the Eagles extended the lead to three with seven seconds left. Montevallo had one last chance to tie the game but was unable to come up with a bucket in the closing seconds.
Marisa Snodgrass came up big for Montevallo with a team-leading 11 points on 4-8 from the field and 3-6 from deep with a team-high six rebounds.
Jordan Parker put together a strong showing off the bench with seven points and three boards, while
Michaella Edwards shot 40-percent from deep with eight points.

st | Parker and ERAU's Rachel Murray lead the scoring with seven points each in the early going. Despite a poor shooting performance, Montevallo trailed by just two points after the first 10 minutes.

nd | A nine-point run from the Eagles midway through the second stretched the lead to seven going into the break. A pair of threes from Snodgrass and Edwards gave the Falcons life going into halftime.

rd | Both teams came out of halftime firing on all cylinders. The Falcons shot 57.1 percent from behind the arc in quarter number three, while the Eagles shot 54.5 percent from the field in the third.

th | Montevallo ended the fourth quarter on a 12-2 run after the team shot 41.2 percent in the final 10 minutes. The Falcons outscored ERAU 17-9 in the fourth to come all the way back from down 13 in the early going.
GAME NOTES
- Montevallo shot 30.6 percent from deep (11-36), while Embry-Riddle knocked down 30.8 percent of shots beyond the arc (4-13).
- Embry-Riddle won the rebound battle 40-26 with a total of 10 offensive boards.
- Montevallo dished out 11 dimes on 19 made field goals with just 17 turnovers, while Embry-Riddle notched 10 assists and 22 turnovers.
- The Falcons shot just three free-throws in the contest making just one with the Eagles taking 13 trips to the line with 11 makes.
- UM's bench came up big for the Falcons with 19 points to 10 bench points from ERAU.
- Embry-Riddle took control of the paint with 26 points compared to Montevallo's 12.
