COLUMBUS, Ga. – Montevallo women's basketball fell on the road against Columbus State, 88-76, in the final non-conference matchup before GSC play begins.
The Falcons took the first quarter, 23-19, with a hot start shooting the ball at a 60 percent mark (9-15) from the field and an 83.3 percent mark from deep (5-6). Montevallo cooled off in the second quarter shooting just 34.8 percent from the field while Columbus State's offense shot 13-24. The Falcon's shooting struggles continued in the third quarter with a 31.6 percent mark. Montevallo's offense picked up in the fourth quarter with a 41.7 percent shooting performance and a 60 percent mark from three.
Newcomers
Isabel Grimes and
Jordan Parker led the way for Montevallo with 13 points each, while
Leisha Steger added 12 points on 5-9 shooting.
Marisa Snodgrass continued to be a rebounding guard with a team-leading six rebounds to go along with five points.

- The Falcons' bench came up big once again with 34 points to the Cougars 28.
- CSU's post play was dominant with 42 points in the paint compared to UM's 20.
- Montevallo shot the ball well from three-point range with a 12-24 performance.
- Montevallo lost the turnover battle 22-18 whole giving up 25 points off turnovers.
