CLEVELAND, Tenn. – The Montevallo women's basketball team took a loss on the road at Lee, 72-55, on Monday night.
The Falcons jumped out to an early 8-4 lead over the Lady Flames with a pair of threes from
Leisha Steger. Montevallo's offense would continue its hot start with three three-pointers in the opening ten minutes to go along with a perfect 5-for-5 from the free throw line to take a 16-12 lead heading into the second quarter. The Falcons fell into a cold second quarter going just 2-of-11 from the field for a total of eight points as Lee took the lead, 30-24, heading into the locker room. Montevallo was not able to find a shooting rhythm in the third quarter, shooting just 20 percent from the field. The Falcons were able to find some offense in the fourth quarter, going 6-for-16 (35.7%) shooting with a 33.3 (3-of-9) percent clip from deep.
Marisa Snodgrass put together a solid performance at Lee with 13 points, four rebounds, four steals and three assists with a perfect 5-for-5 from the charity stripe.
Savannah Cook and
McCarley Northway were strong on the glass with each of them pulling down five boards to lead all Falcon-rebounders.

- The Falcons' free throw shooting was a bright spot in the conference matchup with UM shooting 15-for-16 from the line.
- Montevallo was out-rebounded by the Lady Flames 44-35 with a 14-12 advantage on the offensive glass.
- Montevallo added 20 points off the bench as the reserves played another vital role for the Falcons.
- The Falcons' paint struggles continued allowing 36 points in the paint while scoring just 10 from the painted area.
UP NEXT: Montevallo is set to host Mississippi College on Friday, Dec. 2 at 5:30 p.m. in the first of two conference matchups over the weekend.
