Men's Swimming Sets Pool Records in 186-75 Win over BSC

MONTEVALLO, Ala. – The Montevallo men's swimming team notched its second head-to-head win of the season with a 186-75 victory over Birmingham-Southern, Saturday, at the SAC Natatorium.
 
 
In the win, the Falcons set five pool records and finished first in 13-of-18 events. Jacob Rubin and Connor Daigle each paced the Falcons with three first-place finishes while Will Mahone and Aleksei Kolesnikov each added two individual wins.

The Falcons have now beaten the Panthers three times in the short series history between the two programs. The series is now tied 3-3 all-time.
 
 
NOTABLE PERFORMANCES
 
  • The first win of the day came in the 400-yard medley relay as the team of Will Mahone, Connor Daigle, Aleksei Kolesnikov and Thom Naccarato turned in a pool-record time of 3:33.11.
  • In the sixth event of the day, Jacob Rubin recorded his first win of the meet and set a pool record in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:44.49.
  • Aleksei Kolesnikov's win in the 200-yard butterfly gave the Falcons another win in the meet and set a pool record with a time of 1:55.91.
  • In the 200-yard backstroke, the school record holder Will Mahone set a pool record with a time of 1:55.39.
  • In the final event of the day another pool record was set as Parker Bell, Cameron Smith, Harrison Dorsey and Jacob Rubin each combined for a time of 7:13.75 in the 800-yard relay.

The Falcons will travel Cleveland, Miss. for the Delta State Invite on Dec. 11-14.
