MOBILE, Ala. - A five inning explosion, highlighted by an incredible hitting performance, helped the Montevallo baseball team to a 9-2 victory over Spring Hill, Wednesday afternoon in Mobile. With the win the Falcons improve to 8-0 this season.
Making the start on the mound for Montevallo, freshman
Trey Felker provided the Falcons with a solid outing, allowing only two hits and three walks while recording three strikeouts in 3.0 innings of service.
The Falcons struck first in the top of the first inning after a
Sam Kuchinski homerun brought himself and
Khalid Collymore across home plate for the first two runs of the game.
Spring Hill answered with a run in the bottom of the first, but the Falcons then exploded for seven unanswered runs.
The Falcons out-hit Spring Hill 11-5 with a homerun, eight RBI's and two doubles.
UP NEXT: The Falcons return to Bob Reisner Stadium for a series against Kentucky Wesleyan with the first pitch set for Friday, February 18th at 2:00 PM.
