MONTEVALLO - The Montevallo baseball team concluded Sunday's doubleheader match up against Christian Brothers with a 6-1 loss in game one and a 4-3 win in game two.
The Falcons scored the first run of game one in the second inning after
Matt Simon sacrificed himself allowing
Jake Smallwood to come home. The Buccaneers responded with two runs to snatch the lead from UM in
the third inning. Christian Brothers put together four unanswered runs to close out the 6-1 victory in game one.
Christian Brothers started out strong in game two, notching three runs in the second inning to take an early lead over UM. The Falcons found their first run of the second game after
Reed Latimer hit a double to left field sending Smallwood across home plate.
Montevallo found its next run after
Riley Cain jetted home from third base off of a
Brandon Moore ground ball making the score 3-2 in the bottom of the fourth.
The Falcons secured the victory in game two after
Sam Kuchinski stepped to the plate a went yard for a walk off victory.
