BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The Gulf South Conference selected Reed Latimer as the Baseball Player of the Week for games played between March 14th and March 20th, the league office announced Tuesday.

Latimer had a huge week going 8-for-14 (.571) with seven RBI, five runs scored and slugged .929, while helping Montevallo to 3-1 week. The sophomore began the four-game slate with 2-for-4 day highlighted by a home run and two RBI against fifth-ranked Columbus State. Then in a weekend sweep of Union, Latimer went posted a combined 6-for-10 at the plate, including a big 3-for-4 performance in the series opener. In game two of the series he was 2-for-2 with two doubles and two RBI. He also had a sac bunt and sac fly during the Union series.
