ROME, GA. - The Montevallo baseball team took a 12-7 win followed by an 8-1 loss to the Shorter University Hawks, Saturday afternoon in Georgia. With the split the Falcons sit at 21-8 overall this season with a 7-6 Gulf South Conference record.
NEXT UP: The Falcons will wrap up the Shorter series on Sunday, March 27th with the first pitch set for 11:00 AM.
Falcon Leaders
In game one the Falcons were led by
Reed Latimer and
Jake Smallwood. Latimer submitted two hits with five RBI's, two runs scored, and a home run. Smallwood also had two hits, two runs scored, a double, and a walk.
Ben Teel put together UM's most impactful hit in game two, batting in the Falcons only run.
Pitching
In game one Zack Toth (4-0) took the win on the mound for the Falcons only giving up three hits and two runs with one walk and nine strikeouts.
Trey Felker (2-1) provided service for Montevallo in the second game, allowing 11 hits with seven runs, and three strikeouts.
