MONTEVALLO - The Montevallo baseball team concluded the 2022 regular season with a 19-1 win after falling 5-3 in game one of Saturday's double header against West Georgia. The Falcons conclude the season with a 35-13 overall record and 18-11 Gulf South Conference record.

Game 1 Summary
The scoreboard was left blank until the fifth inning when
Jake Smallwood sacrificed himself to bring
Riley Cain across home plate for a score. Montevallo added two additional runs during the fifth from back-to-back sac flies giving UM a 3-0 lead by the end of the fifth inning.
West Georgia responded in the following inning after Anthony Calabro doubled to right center with bases loaded, setting the game to 3-3.
The Wolves snagged the lead in the eighth inning after Collin Moore homered to left field to give them a 4-3 lead.
The Wolves put together an additional run in the ninth inning to establish a 5-3 lead. Montevallo took a stab at the UWG lead but ultimately did not execute the comeback.
Game 2 Summary
The Falcons did not let the rain delay between games slow throw them off as they dominated in game two.
Sam Kuchinski kicked the Falcons off with a double that sent both
Jake Smallwood and
Reed Latimer across home plate for a 2-0 lead.
The Falcons exploded for 15 unanswered runs before West Georgia's Davis Schwartz hit a double to left field that brought in Fuzzy Furr.
Chet Moore sealed the deal for UM, hitting a home run with Kuchinski on base to bring in UM's final runs.
