Volleyball opened the season at the University of Indianapolis Tournament, finishing 1-3. The Falcons earned their first win of the season, 3-0, over Indianapolis. Montevallo heads back on the road this week to face Trevecca Nazarene (Sept. 2 at 8 a.m.), No. 2 Washburn (Sept. 2 at 3:45 p.m.), Erskine (Sept. 3 at 10:30 a.m.) and Saint Leo (Sept. 3 at 4 p.m.) at the Lee University Invitational in Cleveland, Tenn. Four games into the season, junior Allie Dishman leads the squad with 44 kills.

Men's soccer opened the season with a 1-0 victory over Lynn University last week and tied Lincoln Memorial 2-2 on the road. The Falcons will play on Varsity field for the first time this season on Wednesday, Aug. 31 at 5 p.m. against Francis Marion. To close out the week the squad will face Florida Southern on the road in Lakeland, FL, Sunday Sept. 4, at 1 p.m. Martin Chladek, Otger Vendrell and Edorta Cabieces Sanz each lead Montevallo with one goal each, while Vendrell leads the way with three total points. Goalkeeper Salvador Plaza was named Montevallo's Player of the Week after his 10-save week. 

Women's Soccer opened the season 2-0 after a pair of 1-0 road wins. The Falcons knocked off No. 18 Florida Teach, 1-0, in a weather-shortened affair before taking down Palm Beach Atlantic, 1-0, in the opening-week finale. Angelina Rivas and Kaeri Ward each lead UM with one goal. Goalkeeper Emily Hounsell recorded six saves in the win over Florida Tech and was named the Montevallo Player of the Week. The Falcons will host Clayton State on Friday, Sept. 2 at 5 p.m. in the first home match of the season. Montevallo will return to Varsity field on Monday, Sept. 5 for a showdown with former Peach Belt Conference foe, Young Harris, at 1 p.m.
