MONTEVALLO, Ala. - Montevallo athletics was well represented at the GSC Summer Summit held July 27-29 at the UAB Hilton in downtown Birmingham, Ala. 

Representing the Falcons was Track & Field student-athletes Micah Flores and Anyla Shipman along with women's swimming student-athlete Molly Hansen.  All three are instrumental leaders in the Montevallo Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC).  Hansen also serves on the prestigious NCAA National SAAC Committee.  Taylor Shields, Assistant Director of Compliance, serves as UM's SAAC advisor and attended the summit as well.
 
The trio took part in the three-day summit which featured a community outreach event where the student-athletes and their campus SAAC advisors volunteered at the Community Foodbank of Central Alabama. The group helped to pack meals that would feed 600 families in the Birmingham area. The group also heard presentations from INFLCR's Danielle Tate and Be The Match's Melinda Garrington.
