MONTEVALLO, Ala. - The University of Montevallo volleyball team earned its 10-straight win with a 3-0 sweep of UAH, Saturday in Trustmark Arena.
A balanced offensive attack led the Falcons as a trio of players recorded a team-leading eight kills.
Montevallo fell behind 17-9 in the first set and held off the Chargers to win, 25-22. In set two, the Falcons jumped out to a 19-7 advantage but were outscored 17-5 as UAH evened the set, 24-24. Montevallo re-gained momentum, winning 26-24 in set two. The third set was all Falcons as Montevallo completed its ninth sweep of the season, 25-14.
With the win, the Falcons are 4-0 in Gulf South Conference play and sit in first place in the conference standings.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Set 1
- UAH jumped on top of the Falcons, 9-5, to begin the game.
- After the Chargers extended their lead to eight, 17-9, Montevallo used a 6-0 run, capped with a Martin kill, to cut the deficit to two, 17-15.
- Down 21-18, the Falcons once again responded and used a 7-1 run to take the first set, 25-22, following a UAH attack error.
Set 2
- The Falcons opened with an early 8-3 advantage in set two, and pushed the lead to 11, 19-8.
- UAH crawled out of the deficit and outscored the Falcons, 16-5, to tie, 24-24.
- A kill from Martin and Aliyah Thompson secured the win, 26-24.
Set 3
- Montevallo opened the third set on an 8-1 run.
- Consecutive UAH attack errors gave Montevallo a 16-7 advantage mid-way through the set.
- Martin pushed the lead to 12, 22-10, following a kill to cap a 4-0 run.
- An attack error for the Chargers concluded the set in favor of the Falcons, 25-14, as the squad earned its ninth sweep of the year. 3-0.
