ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. – The University of Montevallo men's golf team finished in sixth place at the Jay Jennison Cup, hosted by Flagler College, Tuesday, in St. Augustine, Fla.
Junior
Landon Wockenfuss and sophomore
Valentino Fantozzi each led the way for the Falcons with a plus-six three-round score for a tied-18
th finish.
Wockenfuss posted his lowest round of the tournament in the first with an even-par 72. In rounds two and three he recorded back-to-back three-over 75's.
Fantozzi shot a 75 in the first round and a 76 in the second before firing a one-under 71 in the final to move up 12 spots in the final standings.
As a team, the Falcons sat in a tie for ninth place after shooting a 15-over 303 in round one. The squad moved up a spot after round two with an 11-over 299. Finally, Montevallo pushed forward two spots in the final round with an eight-over 296 to finish plus-34, in sixth place, in the final standings.
