TUCSON, Ariz. – As practice begins for the 2023 season, the University of Montevallo Baseball Team, under 13-year Head Coach Chandler Rose, is ranked No. 36 in the Collegiate Baseball Newspaper NCAA Division-II Preseason Poll.
 
Coming off a 36-15 season last year, Rose brings back a group of 18 seniors, including the 2022 GSC Co-Player of the Year, Sam Kuchinski.
 
Montevallo was one of two Gulf South Conference schools mentioned in the 40-team ranking. Lee was featured at No. 11 in the preseason poll.
 
The Falcons open the 2023 season at the Houston Winter Invitational on Feb. 3 in Houston, Texas, at Minute Maid Park – the home of the Houston Astros.
