HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – The University of Montevallo men's basketball team suffered a 99-69 loss on the road in Huntsville, Ala., Wednesday.
UAH opened the game on a 20-6 run and shot 5-of-8 from three-point range prior to the first media timeout. Hot shooting continued for the home squad as the Chargers shot 13-of-31 from three in the first half and led by as many as 29-points.
Mason Shifflett led UM's offense in the first half with 14 points on 4-of-8 shooting from deep.
In the second half, Montevallo was unable to carve into UAH's lead. The Falcons trimmed the deficit to a little as 24 in the second half, following a three-pointer from
Braxton Bertolette, but were unable to inch any closer the rest of the way. UAH continued its hot shooting from the deep and added eight more three-pointers, making 21 total for the game at a 41.2 percent clip.
With the road loss, the Falcons move to 8-11 on the year and 6-9 in the GSC.

GAME NOTES
- Braxton Bertolette led Montevallo with 24 points while Mason Shifflett finished three points shy of his career-high with 19 on five made three-pointers. James McNeil added 14 points and drilled four threes.
- Montevallo attempted 44 three-pointers in the contest – the second most in program history – and made 14 to finish with a 31.8 percent clip from deep. UAH finished 21-of-52 from downtown for 41.2 percent.
- UAH held a 49-27 advantage on the boards and scored 15 second chance points on 17 offensive rebounds. Montevallo recorded just two second-chance points on seven offensive boards. Seven rebounds from McNeil led the Falcons.
- Montevallo lost the turnover battle 16-13 as the Chargers scored 21 points-from-turnovers.
