BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The University of Montevallo women's swimming team closed out the 2022-23 regular season with a dual-meet win over Birmingham Southern, 149-113 in Birmingham, Saturday.
In the 14-event meet, the Falcons posted 10 event wins and 18 podium finishes.
Tahlia Micallef and
Molly Hansen each led Montevallo with three first-place finishes.
Hansen, a senior, earned a win in the 100 breast with a time of 1:07.86, the 200 breast at 2:30.47, and the 400 individual medley at 4:50.70.
Micallef, a freshman, finished first in the 200-yard free at 2:00.41, the 200 back at 2:12.74 and the 500 free at 5:22.26.
Emily Sauer joined Hansen and Micallef as the sophomore recorded a pair of wins. Sauer won the 1,000 free with a time of 11:17.43 and the 500 free at 5:34.55.
Keara McGee added a win for UM in the 100 fly with a time of 1:01.60.
As a team, the Falcons added wins in the 200 medley relay at 1:53.73 with the team of Micallef, Hansen, McGee, and
Jaedyn Davies. In the 200 free, UM added its final win of the meet with the group of
Cypris Wilkinson, Davies,
Elysia Addison and Dani Davis finishing first with a time of 1:43.85.
Additionally, the Flacons competed against Millsaps College and Bethel University in the meet. Montevallo earned wins over both, however neither fielded a full team.
