Falcons Top Warhawks, 3-1, On the Road

MONTGOMERY, Ala. – Falcon women's soccer picked up a road win at Auburn Montgomery after defeating the Warhawks 3-1 on Friday night.

The Falcons struck early with a goal from the head of seasoned midfielder Kieran Burkey off a corner from graduate defender Madeline Milby in the third minute of action. Montevallo's backline held strong with the Warhawks finding two shots midway through the first half but neither shot found the mark.

In the 36th minute, Falcon freshman Raylene Alcaraz found the back of the net from way downtown off a beautiful header from her freshman cohort Lainey Farabaugh with Milby setting the entire play up with a long ball down the field.

Montevallo looked to add to its lead in the closing stages of the half but four consecutive Falcon shots missed the mark, leaving UM with a 2-0 lead heading into the break.

The Falcons came out of the half on the attack with Farabaugh firing a shot on frame in the 54th minute but was turned away by the AUM keeper.
