MONTEVALLO, Ala. – The University of Montevallo volleyball teams drops both ends of a doubleheader in the SSC-GSC Crossover in Orlando, Fla.
In the first match, the Falcons lost to Embry-Riddle 3-0. In the final match of the day, UM fell to Rollins 3-1.
With 13 Digs against Rollins,

Allie Dishman led Montevallo in the day with 25 kills and five service aces.
Colton Thompson had 41 assists, 17 digs, four service aces and three kills.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Set 1
- The Eagles dominated the first set by racing out to a 15-6 lead.
- Montevallo made a late push at Embry-Riddle by taking six consecutive points highlighted by three aces from Grace Petro and a kill from Allie Dishman to bring the score to 17-13 advantage ERAU.
- At 18-15, Embry-Riddle took three straight points all on kills to make it 21-15.
- ERAU won the set by taking the last four out of five points.
- The Eagle had a .344 hit percentage in the first set.
Set 2
- Tied at 7-7, ERAU went on a 6-1 run to make it 12-7 in favor of the Eagles.
- At 17-13, the Eagles went on a 8-2 run to take the second set and a 2-0 lead on the Falcons.
Set 3
- The Falcons had their best hitting percentage of the match in the third set at .178.
- After kills from Macy Martin and Allie Dishman, the Eagles got four points on two kills and two aces.
- Down 8-4, the Falcons showed some fight by going on a 7-1 run highlighted by two kills from Allie Dishman and two from Alex Koontz.
- The Eagles immediately tied it up at 11-11, then took the next four out of five points to take a 15-13 advantage.
- Montevallo took the next five consecutive points with kills from Morgan Hoffman and Macy Martin with an ace from Kalin Duncan.
- After being tied at 21-21 and 24-24, Embry-Riddle won the match with two kills in a row.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Set 1
- Back-and-fourth till 8-7, Montevallo went on a 7-1 run with kills from Macy Martin, Colton Thompson and Allie Dishman while Dishman had two aces during that stretch.
- Rollins took the next three points to make it 14-12 advantage Falcons.
- UM took the next four out of five points with kills from Hoffman and Martin.
- After the Tars took three consecutive points, Montevallo jumped to a 24-17 lead with errors from Rollins and kills from Dishman and Colton Thompson.
- The Tars didn't back down as they took five points to make it 24-22 but a kill from Allie Dishman gave the Falcons the first set.
Set 2
- Rollins leaped out to a 14-7 lead to start the set.
- After four errors on the Tars, Montevallo made it 15-10.
- At 16-11, Rollins took every point other than a kill by Macy Martin and an error on the Tars to win the set.
Set 3
- An evenly played set saw both teams totaling 13 kills and four errors during the third set.
- The Falcons had their best hit percentage of the match at .310 while the Tars had their lowest of the match at .281.
- Kalin Duncan and Colton Thompson both had four assists in the set.
- Rollins took the third set on a 5-2 run.
Set 4
- After a service ace from Megan Schram to put the Falcons up 4-2, Rollins took five straight points with three kills.
- Up 9-6, the Tars won seven consecutive points to take a 15-6 lead.
- Up 23-15, the Falcons didn't quit as thy scored the next four points to make it 23-19 but the lead was too much as Rollins went on the win the fourth set and the match.
